This Privacy Policy explains how StudyHub ("the Application") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our mobile application on Android and iOS devices.

1. Information We Collect

Account & Authentication Data

When you register or log in, we may collect your username, email address, and authentication credentials.

User authentication is performed via a secure backend API. Upon successful login, the server issues a JSON Web Token (JWT), which contains only a non-personal internal user identifier (user_id).

The JWT is used exclusively to authenticate subsequent API requests.

Push Notifications (FCM / APNs)

The Application uses push notifications to keep users informed. On Android, notifications are delivered via Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM). On iOS, notifications are delivered via Apple Push Notification Service (APNs). A device-specific token is stored for notification delivery. This information is used only for notifications and not for marketing or tracking.

Local Storage & Offline Data

To support offline functionality, the Application stores cached data locally on your device. This may include non-sensitive application data and user preferences.

2. How We Use Information

Information is used strictly for:

  • User authentication
  • Providing application functionality
  • Offline access and performance optimization
  • Push notification delivery

3. Backend Processing

The Application communicates with a secure backend API over encrypted HTTPS connections. Authentication is enforced using JWT tokens.

4. Third-Party Services

The Application may use third-party services for push notifications (Firebase / Google LLC for Android and cross-platform) and crash reporting (if enabled). All data shared with these services is limited to device tokens and app performance metadata.

5. Data Minimization Principle

We collect and process only the minimum data necessary for the Application’s operation. Sensitive personal data is not stored within authentication tokens.
